This is becoming a huge issue in the real estate world.  Here is a email recieved from one of my title companies.  Please make sure you never respond to ANY emails asking for your bank information.  Title nor myself will never ask you for this information via email or over the phone.

When you are the best and most reputable company, bad actors will try to take advantage of that good name.

Hackers are currently engaged in a spam campaign sending fake e-mails pretending to be from First American.

THESE E-MAILS ARE NOT ORIGINATING FROM FIRST AMERICAN – DO NOT CLICK OR GIVE ANY INFORMATION

Unfortunately, because these scams originate outside of our network, we are just as much a victim as you.

There is little we can do to control the bad guys from sending them. However, we can warn you about them.

Notice the To: and From: are the same and both are not firstam.com. We will never send anything outside of our domain.

If you see any messages that look like this, simply click Delete.
